St. John Shopping

St. John shopping offers a large selection of shops and as St. John continues to enjoy ‘duty free’ status on many specialty items such as jewelry, clothing, arts and craft items, alcohol and tobacco products, etc., visitors can find many good bargains.  Visitors can experience significant savings on most items by shopping at our many fabulous Duty Free shopping venues located around St. John.   Together with many small shops on St. John, below are a few of the larger complex shopping venues.

Wharfside Village

Beachfront shopping “mall” featuring fine jewelry, tropical clothing, gift shops, art, water sports, locally made products, and several waterfront restaurants with spectacular views. Popular spots within Wharfside Village include The Beach Bar, Joe’s Rum Hut, and Waterfront Bistro. Pay parking is available at the end of the complex opposite of the ferry dock.

Mongoose Junction

Upscale, open air St John shopping center near the National Park Visitor Center offering hand crafted fine jewelry, clothing shops, art galleries, restaurants, and more. In Mongoose Junction you will find The Tap Room, home to St. John Brewers, Ocean Grill, Little Switzerland, St. John Scoops Ice Cream, and more. Parking is free as long as you are patronizing one of the establishments in the center.

The Marketplace

A little bit of everything including the only pharmacy on island, Chelsie Drugs, Sam & Jack’s deli, coffee shop/book store, a variety of business offices, and the island’s largest grocery store – Starfish Market. Ample and free parking is available.

A small collection of shops located in Coral Bay, featuring several boutiques and a restaurant. Dolphin Market, the primary option for groceries on this side of the island, is located here along with the popular restaurant Aqua Bistro.

Downtown Shops

Downtown Shops The short walk from the ferry dock to Mongoose Junction (on the north end of Cruz Bay, on your way to the National Park beaches) or to Wharfside Village (to the south of the ferry) takes you through downtown Cruz Bay. Enjoy the friendly relaxed atmosphere & delight in the wide range of items you will find.

Lumberyard Complex This section of Cruz Bay was once our only Lumberyard. Now the center hosts a variety of shops, service establishments & offices.

The Marketplace

The Marketplace offers a wide variety of things everyone needs. South Shore Road, just outside Cruz Bay.

Bordeaux Mountain Overlook Enjoy a cool drink at the outdoor refreshment stand. After a while of relaxing in the cool breeze, do some shopping. Eventually, you will make it to Coral Bay. No rush.

Triangle to East End This drive takes you past Hurricane Hole, Haulover Bay & all the way to Round Bay. Tortola looks so close that you almost can touch it. See for yourself why so many artists live out this way. Enjoy unusual island shopping & eating. Slow down for dogs sleeping in the road.

Triangle to Salt Pond Go right at the triangle & get a look at Coral Harbor & its impressive fleet of traditional & modern sailing vessels. Enjoy the breezes & views. Shop, eat, swim & people watch along the way.
