Our Team

Towards the end of the 20th century, Dave and Robin Conro sold all of their ‘land-based' possessions, bought a 47’ sailboat, and took off to cruise the oceans of the world! Learning not only the survival skills required for that remarkable adventure they also gained a true appreciation for the various cultures they encountered during their travels throughout the West Indies. In 2000, they set anchor permanently on St. John – without a doubt what they considered to be the crowning gem of the many islands they visited.

Whether charting a course to follow at the helm of their boat or at the helm of their St. John businesses, Dave and Robin continue to enjoy the journey in a tropical paradise and welcome you to join them! With years of cruising and living in the Caribbean they, together with their amazing team delight in offering others an escape to ‘live like a local on the exotic Caribbean Island of St. John in the beautiful United States Virgin Islands!

David L. Conro

Owner/Broker

Dave has over 15 years of diverse, hands-on experience in the real estate services industry on St. John in the US Virgin Islands working as a general building contractor, operating a professional property and rental management services agency and as a Realtor. His professional expertise in the real estate services industry is further enhanced by his prior background in corporate management, marketing and sales, pilot-in-command for various corporate and general aviation businesses and general electrical and mechanical engineering occupations. He served in the United States Marine Corps from November 1966 to July 1971. In August of 2010, he obtained his Virgin Islands Real Estate Salesman License and in October of 2013 his Real Estate Broker’s License. He is a member of the St. John Board of Realtors, the Virgin Islands Territorial Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors and the FIABCI International Real Estate Federation. He holds the coveted CIPS (Certified International Property Specialist) and the ABR (Accredited Buyers Representative) designations together with the RSPS (Resorts and Second Home Property Specialist), the AWHD (At Home With Diversity), and the BPOR (Broker Price Opinion Resource) certifications. Since the early 2000’s he has been and continues to be a major contributor to the high profile St. John real estate services industry.

Robin’s many years of office management, law office administration and real estate development/due diligence has been integral to the development of Cimmaron Property Management, Inc. She began working in the vacation rental industry on St. John in 2001 and is very familiar with the distinctive needs and expectations of rental guests and property owners. She incorporates many unique skills and cultural experiences learned from years of sailing throughout the Caribbean together with her vast administrative background to developing systems, implementation and accountability for all business operations. She brings unique insights to promoting and providing premier services for vacationing guests and homeowners on St. John.

Cimmaron’s Full Time Staff

Cimmaron employs a full-time office and housekeeping staff together with a 24/7 maintenance staff with a variety of skills to guarantee that all guest requests and property maintenance projects, whether large or small, will be attended to in a timely, professional, and friendly manner. All members of Cimmaron’s staff are full time residents of St. John who enjoy sharing their local knowledge and welcoming visitors to our island.

The Beginnings and Today

Our Company has enjoyed a vibrant evolution from the beginning until today!  Shortly after arriving on St. John in 2000, Dave and Robin Conro acquired a small carpentry business called Cimmaron Builders.   Utilizing their combined business skills and unique ingenuity they built Cimmaron Builders into a full service general contracting company specializing in general building construction, high end renovations, custom woodworking and advanced building services.  For over 8 years they were considered specialists in ‘design build’ construction by their clientele which consisted of businesses and homeowners exclusively on St. John.

As their reputation of providing high quality building construction expertise grew, their network of clients expanded to include many private homes and condominiums that were being used as vacation rental properties.  While conducting repairs to these properties, it was noted that many of these rental properties were in varying degrees of disrepair from lack of proper maintenance.   It soon became apparent that there was a need for a professional property management and maintenance company on St. John.  In response to this need, Cimmaron Property Management was formed in early 2004 to begin offering professional property management services to St. John homeowners.

The original business goal of Cimmaron Property Management, Inc. was to provide professional property management, maintenance, and financial services to property owners on St. John.  Our owners realize a dramatic difference in the condition of their property(s) as well as long term cost savings due to continuous routine and preventative maintenance services.  Our guests appreciate the quality and cleanliness of our properties while enjoying trouble free vacations and always look forward to their return visit to St. John and to staying at a Cimmaron managed property!

In 2010 Cimmaron Property Management, Inc. expanded its highly successful property management business by launching CimmaronStJohn to market and promote vacation rentals for our managed properties.  Headlined by a dynamic, professionally designed website we began to promote our vacation villa & condo rental services, and today, the CimmaronStJohn brand has become synonymous with honesty, integrity and professionalism in the vacation rental industry.  Our international marketing strategies and our extremely popular social media campaigns together with a diverse selection of some of St. John’s best vacation rental properties have made us a favorite with vacation travelers worldwide.

In 2013, Cimmaron Property Management, Inc. reorganized as a licensed Virgin Islands Real Estate Brokerage Company.  Operating under the trade name Cimmaron Vacation Home Realty we now offer unparalleled expertise in real estate services to buyers and sellers of properties here on St. John.  With over 15 years of extensive experience in providing real estate services on St. John including, building construction, general contracting, property management/maintenance and vacation rentals and planning, Cimmaron Vacation Home Realty and CimmaronStJohn are uniquely positioned as specialists in Vacation Home ownership and Vacation Rental management on St. John.
